What We have Been Working On

Hey All

Wanted to give you all an update and telegraph what we are doing next.

Distribution

We are working to scale up production to support a truckload of Tangled being delivered to a midwest distributor (Or our own space, either way). This will reduce shipping cost so we can pass that savings on. We are late in doing this. But better late than never

AMS Compatible and Cheaper 1KG Spool

This has always been a supply issue. But we have found a good supplier of AMS compatible spool. And some sick automated machinery to spool them so the labor cost doesn't jack their prices up. This will be a great unlock. Should be coming in the next couple of months.

TUFF

Tough Unacronymed F#$king Filament. Is a new material that we are working on. It is a matte material with super high strength and chemical resistance. Will be coming out in the spring. Will be about $20 per KG at the start. But that will be about half the cost of this type of material from other suppliers.

PCTG

PCTG is too expensive. So we are working on getting this in production. Sooner than later. Will also come in about $20 per spool. We hate the name. Always will. But it is a better material than PETG in a number of respects.

Military Supply

We are getting certified to sell this through to the US Armed Forces. That should be up in a couple of weeks. Sorry for the delay. We should have thought of this from day one. "Murica"

So wheels are turning. Should be able to keep scaling up. We think Tangled can 3-5X next year. Hopefully we can keep reducing the price of good quality feedstock.

In the mean time. Go buy some black PLA. We made it cost $10 a spool. Its pretty good.

Also, did you notice our nice new icons for shopping for filament. We hated the spool image. Now you can actually tell what something is from the thumbnail.

For Example: 3KG Black PLA Spool

Since the chat goes nowhere... I noticed a lot of particles/dust in the spools of PETG and PLA (3kg is what I order). It looks like card board, fibrous, brown stuff. Can you get rid of that ? Packaging stage ? I am running on a 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzle and sometimes see it embedded in the prints...

PETG Black 3kg : Not viable. I can order Pantone coded PETG for 30% cheaper without the fluff and dust. PLA Black 3kg : Convenient and I do want to support this platform, so I'll keep buying a roll per month for draft printing / testing. PLA color spools and other 1kg, meh... Too expensive, quality ok, color matching seems to be…

Can you QC the Tangled PLA. At 265c and 50mm speed, I'm still clogging nozzles weekly. This voids any potential savings since I have to replace them. Best guess is a diameter consistency. Every clog has a bulge before the nozzle. (Harden gear extruders across 12 printers).

Thank you

I run 260C at about 90 to 100mm/s with a 0.6mm High flow and don't clogs. Now if you run 0.4 the fluff on those rolls might be an issue...
