You can get $10 Filament for $7. Let us Explain

Happy New Year BTW.

Alright... We have released filament that costs $10/KG

There are two catches. You have to be a Tangled Member which costs $7 per month. And it is only on large 3KG Spools

You can use the Large spools anywhere. Just hang them from a Spool Holder above your machine. We have the file to print this for free. And there are plenty of other options too. Large spools also reduce your change-over work. We have high speed machines, why do people still want 1KG?

As to the Membership subscription

  • You get lower pricing/KG than the public

  • You get free shipping

  • And we will be adding exclusive products

  • And you can just support the project (Think of it like a patreon)

  • It is still cheaper than paying shipping without a subscription

  • You can cancel anytime.

We tried to make the subscription stupidly high value. Like buying a costco membership to get the $1.50 hotdogs.

If you buy more than 1 order per month it is a no brainer. If you buy regularly it is no brainer. If you are buying 1 order ever... it is cheaper but a bit more effort to have the membership.

Why we did a membership

Everything at Tangled is about optimization. We get better, faster and therefore cheaper. But we cannot predict the future, and this hurts you. We don't know the demand next month, we don't know how many people will buy. We don't know how much money it will make. This means we have to price the uncertainly into the cost of goods.

A subscription eliminates uncertainty. That lets us make the products cheaper. And lets us budget where to invest to improve in other places. It also lets us improve the product. When we know how many people will buy we can always keep that in stock, so you can rely on us better. Rather than just dropping filament until we sell out.

So that is why we are doing a membership. We hope you all enjoy the new year gift. Onward and downward...with the price.

Received my order. Just found this "Blog" that explains why it took so dang long to get. But how do you not vacuum seal the filament?? Then not even toss a tiny bag of moisture absorber into the bag it comes in? Now I'm going to have to wait even longer to dry this stuff out before I can think of printing anything. Also, only black? Is that the plan

Turn around time from order date?

Suka

Black only? Will that ever change, to say, white and gray as well?

Did you know that ANYONE can go into a costco and buy the hotdogs? It does NOT require a membership to go in for the concessions.

That's actually not true anymore.

How come the website copyright says 1908? Is it an inside joke or just a mistake?
