Testing Carbon Fiber Filament

Hey Guys,


So Tangled Testing is ramping. We got a basic set of tests done with carbon fiber.


For these first tests we are focusing on Layer Adhesion. This is where there is cap in the data. Previous research has all shown that parts are 90--95% the strength of an isotropic material when printed flat. But layer adhesion is the unique quality that is not well understood and is native to 3D Printing.


We will be running through lots of other brands of Black PLA and comparing them back to Tangled Black. But we will also be hitting lots of other materials. (TPU is actually next)


As time progresses we will also continue to refine the process. Right now we are getting our legs under us. It is not about where you start it is about how fast you improve. A Mantra that applies to tangled all the way through.
